Q.
What do I need in order to
participate?
A.
You will need a pair of
athletic spikes and comfortable, athletic clothing.
Q.
How many players are on a team?
A.
Maximum roster size is 20. Most
teams will have about 12. You should have at least eight on
the field at a time but you can play with as little as six.
Q.
How many players are on the
field at one time?
A.
This is an 8-on-8 format which
means there are eight players from each team on the field at
one time.
Q.
Where are games played?
A.
All games are played at

When are games played?
A.
Games are played Saturdays
beginning around 12 noon.
We begin just after our youth
flag league has finished.
Q.
What is the age criteria?
A.
Any player, male or female who
is 18 or over is welcome to play. Each team must have an
average age of 30.

How
are teams organized?
A.
We get a mix of players who
join the league as a team, and players who join as “free
agents”. We can accommodate both.
Q.
When and where are practices
held?
A.
That is up to the individual
teams. Most teams will practice before the season begins but
not often after that. Teams are welcome to practice at the
Westgreen campus, however, youth teams have first priority
for field space.
Q.
Can I bring a team?
A.
Yes! However, you should be
sure that your group meets our average age requirement of 30
and that they understand and are in agreement with our
league philosophy.
Q.
Is this a competitive league?
A.
Great question! The object of
any game is to try to win however, that is not our top
priority in this league. We “Play to Win and Honor God”.
You can’t do both if you are
going to be a poor sport. This league is about fun,
fellowship, and staying injury free first. For all of the
fun we have had with this league, there have also been some
great games. Some of the guys are very talented and can
still play. I have seen some highlight reel type one handed
catches, sheer speed, and incredible moves!
As far as the
attitude of the league goes, my favorite chant is “RUN,
FOREST,
RUN!” which you hear often when a player who is “speed
challenged” breaks into the open. (Usually because the
defender fell down) If you can handle that, you will do fine
in this league. If you get upset about blown calls, dropped
balls, laughing at each other, this may not be the league
for you.
We play to win but also keep a good
attitude about it and definitely do not take it too
seriously.

How long will I be here each
Saturday?
A.
The game itself has two 20
minute halves with a 5 to 10 minute halftime which makes the
game last about one hour each week. Teams are encouraged to
show up at least 15 minutes before game time and there is
usually a short team meeting after the game so you can
expect to be here about 90 minutes each game day.

What size football will our age
group use?
A.
We use a colligate size ball.
It can be genuine or composite leather. No rubber balls are
allowed.
